| Marshfield Clinic Health System Using Online Tools to Address Social Determinants of Health Recognizing that patient health is affected by factors beyond the conventional clinical settings, Marshfield Clinic Health System has partnered with Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc. to create an online tool to help people connect with a wide range of professional services to strengthen health and well-being. Through a link on the Marshfield Clinic Health System website, users can enter their zip code and gain access too thousands of national, statewide and local agencies that offer free and reduced-cost support with finances, food, housing, transportation, medical care, addiction, education, employment, legal, and many other needs.
Speaking to Wausau television station WSAW, Jason Shrader, Vice President of Community Impact & Social Accountability with the Marshfield Clinic Health System, said a primary focus of the initiative is to give people the ability to seek and find help with dignity and ease. He said, "We want to give our patients and members the ability to quickly and easily find important community resources that help them address those non-clinical factors that impact health." |
Amazon Clinic Announces Virtual Care Now Available in All 50 States
Amazon, a Healthcare Leadership Council member, has announced that Amazon Clinic virtual care is now available in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., offering people easy access to licensed clinicians. In addition to message-based consultations in 34 states, Amazon Clinic now supports video visits nationwide and offers customers 24/7 access to clinicians through its website and mobile app.
Customers are able to compare response times and prices from multiple telehealth provider groups, complete an intake form, and connect with their chosen provider. Depending on the state in which they are located, customers can connect via messaging or video call - all without an appointment or insurance. Through Amazon Clinic's secure message portal or video call, the clinician will provide a recommended treatment plan, which may include a prescription.
