Dear Joy, We're excited to share with you a new interactive map of Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program grants across the state.
We often call Knowles-Nelson Wisconsin's best kept secret. Funds from the program support thousands of trails, campgrounds, and parks in addition to the major land conservation projects the program makes possible. We're working to change that by making it easy to see how Knowles-Nelson makes a difference in your community.
More than 3,000 grants have been awarded to nonprofits and local governments, bringing nearly $400,000 million in state investment to the places we all enjoy right outside our back doors.
So check out our new map! Use the filters on the map to see grants awarded in your county, or filter by legislative district instead. Click on any of the individual pins to see details about the grant.
We're gearing up for the 2021 budget debates where the future of the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program will be decided. Governor Evers will release his budget at the end of February, and the legislature will debate the budget throughout the spring.
We'll need as many people as possible to speak up for Knowles-Nelson. Have a look at the map, see where the program works in the places you love, and then share this email with a friend and ask them to join Team Knowles Nelson, too.
Thanks for your support!
