Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici (OR) has again this year circulated a letter to her fellow members of the House of Representatives requesting their signatures in support of a request to the House Appropriations Labor/HHS/Education Subcommittee leaders to increase funding for the Older Americans Act Title III programs in FY 2020. The Title III programs are critical home and community-based services that allow older adults and people with physical disabilities to live at home with dignity as they age. These services include adult day health, assistance with bathing and dressing, meal preparation, shopping, bed linen changing, caregiver respite, home nursing, home-delivered meals, and more.
This year there will be thousands of letters going to the Appropriations committee designed to have them consider increased funding for specific non-defense discretionary funding to carious federal programs. That's why your voice matters even more! Contact your Representatives to ask them to sign their name to their important letter. The more signatures the letter gets, the more recognition it will get from the Appropriations committee.
Member signatures are due on Friday, March 22, so please so your outreach TODAY by clicking take action, customizing your message, and sending through our online platform to your Representatives. |
