Empowering students through internships and career readiness programs is crucial for their future success. Check out how COE and the National TRIO Alumni Association (Official) are supporting TRIO students' career development in the blog post below. #TRIOWorks #TRIOAlumni #CareerReadiness

“Students who complete an internship while in college are 48.2% more likely to attain college-level employment than those who do not.” The Council for Opportunity in Education and National TRIO Alumni Association (Official) are taking a bold, and deep wraparound approach to quality coaching, career readiness and skill development for TRIO Student Support Services and McNair students. Students partake in interactive career focused webinars; 6 curriculum models through the partnership with the Center for Evidenced-Based Mentoring at the UMass Boston, and intentional quality coaching with assigned TRIO alumni mentors. Cohort II of the TRIO Career Development Program consists of 136 students from more than 20 different TRIO serving institutions with a 89% virtual participation activity rate; with average GPA’s of a 3.4. Our TRIO students are hungry; and fiery for their career futures to take off! Their energy is a result of the TRIO advisors and staff doing the behind the scenes work! Inquire about how you can get involved! Check out our latest story featuring a few of our talented students! Kaniyah Williams, Guy Bastien and Cecilia Puga keep climbing, we have a village for you! #TRIOworks #TRIOalumni

Congratulations Misael on an incredible semester! Embracing challenges outside your comfort zone is where real growth happens. Looking forward to the exciting path you chart ahead! #TRIOWorks
What a semester! Being an intern in Washington D.C. has been an experience I will forever be grateful for. I learned so many aspects of the social, profesional and political world that has forged me into the person I am today. The knowledge I have goes way beyond that January 17th when I landed in DC. Being a part of the Córdova y Fernós Internado Congresional opened my doors to intern at Council for Opportunity in Education and I will never regret it. This journey showed me that when you get out of your comfort zone, you grow. I will forever cherish the time in DC and use the connections and knowledge for my path ahead. Thank you to everyone that helped me along the way; colleagues, mentors, co-workers, anyone that I crossed paths with this semester, I will forever be grateful for this amazing experience!🫀🫂 Here’s to the journey ahead🥂
